Sunday Salon Series “Mother on the Brain”

Join us at the Gilchrist Museum for a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration through music, memory, and connection.
May’s Second Sunday Salon, “Mother on the Brain,” offers a beautiful survey of songs centered around mothers, children, and the meaning of home. Featuring music from the period 1820–1910, this program invites you to step back in time and experience the emotional landscape of family life through song.
Featuring:
• Katie Hendrix (Cumberland) – vocalist
• Brooke Evers (Hagerstown) – vocalist
• Joseph Yungen (Frostburg) – piano
Together, these talented performers will bring to life a rich selection of music that reflects the joys, tenderness, and complexities of motherhood and family across generations.
Whether you’re celebrating a mother, remembering one, or simply honoring the idea of home and connection, this intimate salon offers a meaningful way to spend your afternoon.
Set within the historic and cozy atmosphere of the Gilchrist, this event invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and share in a collective experience of music and memory.
Bring a loved one, a friend, or come as you are — all are welcome. This is a FREE community event.
